The discriminating aristocracy of earlier centuries found Lake Como and took it for their own. On its margin they built their palaces and their villas and surrounded them with gardens that are still the pride of Europe. The film shows how today travellers from Britain enjoy their holidays on the shores of this world famous lake, sharing with the Italians the gaeity of their fiestas and the dignity of their ancient festivals, recapturing an atmosphere of leisure and good living that can scarcely be rivalled.
