A visit by the Duke of Edinburgh added lustre to an exhibition of locomotives staged as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Institution of Locomotive Engineers held at Marylebone Parcels depot on 13th & 14th May 1961. On show are powerful diesel and electric locomotives side-by-side with record-breaker Mallard and Evening Star, the last of the line.
