Dock Briefing (1968)
11 minutes - Colour

A lively introduction to the British Transport Docks Board, giving an up-to-date insight into its running and the facilities it provides for prospective customers. Nineteen ports, three commercial offices, a research station and an educational establishment, all are part of the comprehensive service that the Board has to offer. The new developments include Southampton's quick turn-round roll-on, roll-off, car-passenger ferry services to the Continent, the beginning of full containerisation - and the preparation for deep-sea giant cargo ships in South Wales. The accent is on the Group.
